HIGH LIGHT

HIGH LIGHT was presented in 2020 as part of the Kyoto Arashiyama Hanatoro light festival in Kyoto, Japan.

The installation consisted of UV-reactive neon bands stretched between trees, forming a spatial structure that responded to natural forces. Activated by ultraviolet light, the elements began to vibrate in the wind, creating dynamic fields that visually articulated and divided the surrounding space.

The work explored the formation of temporary spatial boundaries through movement, light, and rhythm, transforming the landscape into a continuously shifting environment.

Developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was conceived remotely and realized on site in collaboration with local partners. The physical absence of the artist became part of the process, shifting the focus toward planning, translation, and execution at a distance.
