Philipp Dreber is a German artist working at the intersection of sculpture, spatial systems and generative processes. His practice explores form as an information process, investigating how material, structure and behaviour interact to shape spatial experience.
Drawing from both digital and physical methodologies, Dreber develops works ranging from large-scale installations in public space to smaller serial objects and plot-based studies. His approach combines parametric design, algorithmic thinking and hands-on material exploration, resulting in structures that appear both precise and dynamic.
A central aspect of his work is the relationship between physical and metaphysical systems. Dreber examines how forces, patterns and information manifest in form — from molecular and geometric principles to spatial and social structures. Behaviour plays a key role in this context: his work reflects on how individual elements interact within systems, drawing parallels to swarm intelligence, cultural patterns and collective dynamics.
Alongside his artistic practice, Dreber has extensive experience in design and fabrication, working across disciplines and collaborating with specialists in engineering and production. He studied design at Hochschule Niederrhein and has been involved in teaching, research and the development of experimental approaches to form and material.
